Former PSPTB Executive Director Dr Clemence Tesha wins International Procurement and Supplies Professional awardPosted on: Sep 15, 2016
The International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management(IFPSM) has selected Dr.Clemence Tesha,Former Executive Director of Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board, as recipient of its prestigious Garner Themoin Award, presented to an individual whose unselfish, sincere and persistent efforts have furthered the advancement of the supply chain profession.
The award was presented to Dr. Tesha in Uganda recently by IFPSM President Ms Cheryl Farrow to recognise his remarkable contribution in developing procurement and supplies profession globally and Tanzania in particular.
Ms Farrow applauded Dr.Tesha for the dedication and efforts he put into raising the profile of the Tanzanian professional board to global standards and in the professionalization of procurement and supplies management regionally.
In particular, Ms Farrow mentioned Dr. Tesha’s contribution mentioned Dr. Tesha’s contribution in getting his Board’s professional syllabus approved by IFPCM as well as getting his Board registered as IFPSM affiliate member.
According to the IFPSM President, Tesha becomes the first African procurement and supplies professional to be presented with this award.
When asked for comments,Dr. Tesha said: “I am delighted that this award has recognised my dedication and the commitment of my colleagues at a global level and this is great news to our board.”
He said the achievement is an honour not only to him but to the East African Region and Tanzania in particular.He called on all professionals to work diligently so as to qualify for such awards next time around.
Each year, IFPSM makes awards in recognition of contribution made by professionals from its registered members.
